For one semester survey courses in general economics
Teach your students how to think like economists.
The Economic Way of Thinking goes beyond explaining the basic principles of micro- and macroeconomic analysis by showing students a method of reasoning that teaches them how to apply these principles as tools. The authors expose students to a method of reasoning that makes them think like an economist through example and application and also shows them how not to think, by exposing errors in popular economic reasoning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great textbook
Verified PurchaseBook came in good conditions and I highly reccomend renting it rather than buying.
The content is straight forward micro-economic theory and does not use nearly as much math or calculus as some principles textbooks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book! Great examples! Clear diction! Not "too wordy."
Verified PurchaseBook is very clear with examples to support txt. My professor on the other hand, needs some work, however, that is due to her thick accent. It is so thick I cannot understand her, The book is great!

1.0 out of 5 stars the only reason Pearson gets away with this is because of their collusion with colleges to extort poor college students
Verified PurchaseI have no problem with the book itself - It's a rudimentary, entry-level college economics textbook. There's absolutely no reason it needs to cost $200. Clearly, the only reason Pearson gets away with this is because of their collusion with colleges to extort poor college students. It's ironic that a "Economics" textbook that purports to teach the concept of supply and demand is sold under a monopolistic pricing model.
The professors that require this book should be ashamed of themselves. I would have preferred to keep a copy of the book as reference, but instead, at this price, opted to "rent" the digital version for a term @ $85.00.
