5.0 out of 5 stars Me encanta

5.0 out of 5 stars Ben fatto!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, a necessity for English students!
Verified PurchaseExcellent. It seems pricey, but not when you see how many books and authors are included. It's great for Uni work and much better than buying all of the individual works. The covers are quite thin and therefore a bit fragile for such a big book, especially if you use it often, so it may be worth covering it to keep it in better condition. Again, if using for work or uni, the online access (via password inside the cover) is really useful for understanding the texts better, with quizzes, more detailed information, and revision resources. The whole book is quite bulky, so I recommend this ABC version, as it's split into 3 volumes. Much easier to carry around and read comfortably.

Verified PurchaseAt first, let me admit that before I had ordered this anthology, I had lot of apprehensions about the weight of the volumes, the size of the print and also the quality of the paper. On all these counts, today I am a fully satisfied man. This anthology has three volumes which cover the British literature from the Middle Ages, the Sixteenth century, the Early Seventeenth century and the Restoration and the Eighteenth century. Each of these volumes is very handy and anyone can carry them to the class room also. The print size is also Ok for the eye and the quality of the paper is good. The paper is very thin and hence more pages could be accommodated in one volume making it handy and at the same time not very heavy to carry.
Regarding the delivery, it is as usual fantastic from Amazon and prompt.
Finally, regarding the content, Norton & co. Did a splendid job once again in this nineth edition. The introductions and the biographies of the authors are commendable and splendidly researched. The renowned Professor Stephen Greenblatt and his team have reproduced the British literature in a new avatar for any English literature student and teacher. Norton series is more widely read as a textbook of English literature in the U.S., but I think it is equally relevant in India also. I am happy that it is catching up!
But whatever supplementary material promised in the blurb of the book could not be accessed by me! With the password given in the. Volume.
