Exactly as described, or better. Took awhile to arrive from UK (I live in California). But it was worth the wait, especially at the listed price.

Review
This textbook provides a starting point for those embarking on courses in nutrition and related subjects and offers a broad survey of the field. (Food Science and Technology Abstracts)
Like previous editions, the fourth edition of this multiauthored book ambitiously aspires to be a simple reference work on nutrition, which will be useful to a very broad readership... Do the authors succeed in their aim? I believe that they do. New students of human nutrition, as well as scientists and clinicians working in related disciplines, will find a wide range of basic and up-to-date information, written in an eminently readable form. (The Bulletin of The Royal College of Pathologists, August 2013)

Review
`Review from previous edition Review from previous edition This is an admirable book for clinical and other scientists entering the field...it can be thoroughly recommended' European Journal of Clinical Nutrition `Overall, this is a comprehensive but eminently readable book, which will provide an ideal companion for students of nutritional science and its affiliated healthcare disciplines. Its competitive price represents excellent value for money, further reason why I shall be recommending it highly to both my postgraduate and particularly my undergraduate students of nutrition and dietetics.' British Journal of Nutrition, 2008

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have !

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book but be careful if using the Android Kindle app
Verified PurchaseI returned this book within minutes of purchase because it is suppled in a new 'enhanced' format. The new format has some reasonable features but sever limitations. It is effectively a PDF type view but the Kindle viewer has very poor functionality compared to say, Moon+ Reader pro. You cannot select a text reflow format or change the background colour for ease of reading. It is also incompatible with my phone (so I could not download it on that device)
My rating is based on the book, which I subsequently bought in paperback. I've only read a couple of chapters but it is exactly what I was looking for. I have the 2nd edition and the updates effecively make it a new book. I will add a review against the paperback when I have read it. In the meantime just to provide a balance of considerations, the paperback weighs 1.54 kg, so not very convenient for carrying around.
Very pleased as usual with Amazon's support with instant phone service to return and refund the Kindle version.
