This is getting a lot of bad reviews but only because other customers were upset that they did not get the online component of it even though it clearly states "(book only)". Anyway, this is one of the best French textbooks I have ever read. How they teach you the grammatical rules is so clear and understandable. I didn't take a French class for almost 2 years and this book was an immense support. Definitely keeping this for reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great textbook.
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is a good textbook, I find that while it is a little dated on cultural things the grammar explanations are great.
This is an intermediate text and learning a language consists of lots of repetition. Do not expect to keep learning new rules eventually it is just recycling old things.

1.0 out of 5 stars Intermediate program.......not!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI have been studying french over some months and am ready to move on to an intermediate text. Thus, I was thrilled to find this book described as an intermediate program. It is not. It is a beginning course, just like the other first level texts I have. I will be returning this text, and the other parts (workbook, answer key) that I purchased. So very disappointed.
