Loved this book! It is an extremely interesting book that was hard to put down. Personally I believe it should be a book that all Middle School students should read and then be required reading again in college. Professionals who often forget what tragedies can occur by the misuse of information need a reminder. This book does it with case illustrations that are not drawn out to where you need a degree in law just to understand what is being conveyed. My teenagers have become interested in this book as well. That alone should tell you, it is a book that will capture you, shake your beliefs, and open your eyes! It will stay in my personal library and a discussion in my household.

Forensic and Legal Psychology is an engaging and comprehensive exploration of the intersection between psychology and the law.
Costanzo and Krauss show students how psychological science can be used to enhance the gathering of evidence, improve legal decision making, reduce crime, and promote justice. With the integration of fascinating real trials, cases and other examples of the legal system in action, the authors illustrate how research and theory can deepen our understanding of suspects, criminals, police officers, victims, lawyers, witnesses, judges, and jurors.
This book accessibly illustrates the relevance of key research findings in social, cognitive, clinical, and developmental psychology to virtually every aspect of the legal system psychologists have studied.

Verified PurchaseThis is a very interesting book! It focuses a lot on how the legal professions (ie: lawyers, police, etc.) can improve by becoming more scientific-based. I totally agree with this because current laws are based on mere tradition and past events (precedents) which don't always apply to situations that are happening today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Textbook
Verified PurchaseI used this book for my Psychology and the law class and I was very pleased. Most textbooks are dry and dull but this one keeps your interest and reads like an enjoyable book. Each chapter has a few real life stories incorporated to the particular lesson and presents the information in a clear and understandable way such that even if you weren't supplementing the book with a lecture, you would still be able to fully comprehend what is written.

Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI initially bought this book as it was required for my college class. However, I didn't think it would be this interesting to read, but overall happy with my purchase.
