5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I expected
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI needed a guide/Solutions Manual but didn't want to spend high $ for the 8th edition so searched for the 7th. While you need to look through the table of contents to find the appropriate chapter (they've rearranged the chapters in the 8th edition), it's still a great help for a low price. Not all of the questions are answered, but the review material is helpful and relevant. All in all, this is a good price and worth it for what you get out of it. The Seller sent it quickly and I received it earlier than expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great help
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseLook, this book gets the job done. Its dry and to the point. It serves its purpose, and explains how to get the answers. For someone like me, who needs to practice organic chemsitry to UNDERSTAND it, how else will I know if I got the answers from the book right? I got the book used for over $100 less than at my university bookstore. No need to get a new one, in my opinion. Also, my seller was fast and I got my book right away.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful...
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseVery useful in helping with the problems in the textbook. I am so glad that I purchased this despite the bad reviews I had seen about it. Of course, you must have some knowledge about organic chemistry in order for this book to be helpful, but even with the most mediocre idea of what to do, this book will help trememdously.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth it!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis study guide has the answer to every problem in the book, and most of them have explanations along with it. I'm convinced this is the reason I got an A. A great resource for studying and helped me to thoroughly understand the material. I studied my lecture notes and then I picked out problems from the book that I thought were relevant to what my professor focused on in class. This really helped me through a tough class. Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh.
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseLet's be honest: paying nearly $100 for a solutions manual sort of...well, sucks.
The pricing is especially onerous as one has already invested nearly $200 in McMurry's text, which does not include the answers to problems in the back, making the study guide a necessary evil.
If you're using McMurry, you're going to need this. I can't say I like it so far; the answers don't always seem to match the problems exactly and are sometimes blatantly wrong. It's frustrating when the solutions manual gives a solution for a mechanism that simply will not work according to the text.
