Product description

Review

The text is beautifully laid out and makes use of a variety of excellent pedagogical features. The writing style is excellent; the text has a mature and refined but highly readable tone. ― Dr Simon Lancaster, University of East Anglia

Outperforms any other modern inorganic text I have encountered. ―
Dr Andrew Marr, Queen's University Belfast

A concise but complete, comprehensive overview of inorganic chemistry; ideal for chemistry undergraduates up to and including third year. ―
Stephen Potts, University College London

An excellent in-depth textbook, clearly written, logically laid out with excellent diagrams and in text self-assessment questions. I would recommend it without reservation. ―
Craig Williams, University of Wolverhampton

Excellent, broad coverage of modern inorganic chemistry, presented in an appealing and easy-to-read fashion for undergraduate students. ―
Charles O'Hara, University of Strathclyde

This book is a good survey for basically all of the elements, most of it is done by group. I highly recommend this book for undergrad/graduate. What to expect: survey on most of the transition metals, electronics of metals, plus metal magnetism. This book does have an expectation of you to have background in chemistry. At the end of the book there is a section for applications of inorganic chemistry (coordination, catalysis), but it does not go into great detail on those subject.
What not to expect: Inorganic reactions, they go surface level on reactions.
Details at the end of the book (ie catalysis, that area of study is soooo large its hard to fit in a book)

Overall, I highly recommend this book, its very easy to read for a graduate student

Like the Group Theory textbook I ordered, it also is a useful tool to understand Inorganic Chemistry. Without this companion book, I would have nearly failed the course. Also, an essential must have

Don't forget to factor in import tax! Got a surprise when there was an extra $27 fee when I picked it up from the post office.
    Otherwise, lovely book. Great condition.

This textbook would be great for someone who already knows the material, and just needs a review. But, it is impossible to learn inorganic chemistry from this textbook without turning to other sources to fill in details it leaves out. It doesn't teach.
