About the authors
Vikas is a writer, editor, entrepreneur, and retired teleradiologist. In 1990 he conceived and authored the original First Aid for the USMLE Step 1. His entrepreneurial endeavors included a student-focused medical publisher (S2S), an e-learning company (medschool.com), and an ER teleradiology practice (24/7 Radiology). Trained on the Left Coast, Vikas completed a bachelor’s degree at the University of California Berkeley; an MD with thesis at UCSF; and a diagnostic radiology residency at UCLA. His eclectic interests include cryptoeconomics, information design, and avoiding a day job. Always finding the long shortcut, Vikas is an adventurer, knowledge seeker, and occasional innovator. He and his spouse, Jinky, are avid kiteboarders and worldschoolers, striving to raise their three children as global citizens.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential “Dedicated” Step 1 source
Verified PurchaseFirst Aid is known as “the bible” of Step 1 for good reason. This is the base reference for the dedicated study period, i.e. your veritable encyclopedia, and really where your brain lives leading up to the test. It contains the largest majority of the information tested in any one place, and many use it for 2CK prep too. It is two letters of the essential “UFAP” study materials/plan (along with U-world and Pathoma). Within its margins, write any high-yield test information gathered from other sources, e.g. Pathoma, Goljan, B&B, any q-banks. Buy the most updated version for your test year, make sure you see most if not all of it as you go through U-world. Don’t skip the high yield rapid review tables in back. I still open it up from every now and then when trying to recall some basic science obscure medical fact or phys concept.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utile e Pratico
- Affronta ogni patologia e sindrome attraverso le sue caratteristiche principali, senza spaziare troppo in minuzie anacronistiche;
- Dove possibile, include sempre strategie mnemoniche per facilitare l'apprendimento delle informazioni (utile soprattutto ai fini del test);
