Product description
Review
Review of previous edition: 'A really excellent series of textbooks! Reading Greek itself is enough for learning ancient Greek. My two years' experience (2006-2008) proved this. Well-organized grammar and vocabulary, interesting texts, numerous, step-by-step exercises, wonderful audio CD, a friendly independent study guide … all these guarantee the learners' efficiency and speed.' Yuanguo He, Professor of Classics, School of History, Wuhan University

5.0 out of 5 stars Il greco antico da autodidatta
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseContiene la risoluzione degli esercizi presenti nella grammatica oltre alle versioni del testo base. Insieme agli altri due testi, consente di progredire nello studio del greco antico da autodidatti. Uniche avvertenze: conoscenza base dell'inglese e una minima conoscenza dell'alfabeto greco.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent

As I have the 2nd edition I needed this study guide as the 2nd edition exercises are different from the first. It arrived within the time promised.

5.0 out of 5 stars This study guide makes it possible for any serious language ...
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis study guide makes it possible for any serious language student to study ancient Greek thoroughly. In using it along with the main text, I found the idiomatic translations of Greek passages helpful in writing my own literal translations, which guided me toward thinking in ancient Greek. As an elderly student who studied ancient Greek in college and as a former college teacher of English as a foreign language, I found "An Independent Study Guide to Reading Greek" and the main text to have integrated modern-language teaching methods in such a way as to generate true fluency. I found reading and listening to the main-text passages five times at sitting and then rescheduling for review later at intervals of 3 days, 10 days, 30 days and 60 days to be a sure way toward reading fluency. I should add that those passages that were not recorded by the authors, I read aloud on my own.
