    This rating is mostly about the *value* of renting this to compliment the course. In short, it is absolutely minimal. I consulted this book maybe twice. What's really criminal is that a book is a low latency method for sharing concepts regarding how to think about problems. The mechanics of calculus were straightforward and replicable. But in my estimation, business calculus is not really about that. It's about determining what calculus would best fit a particular problem scenario and in that regard - the only one that matters - this book totally failed. I ended up doing all of any substantive learning on the topic from my brilliant and patient Wyzant tutor, Avrila. I recommend her, but if you are comfortable reading text from online, you have no use for this book - and you'll likely be paying for the pearson online course anyway. Digital access to the book comes with it.

    Decent enough book. Discussions are suitable for someone trying to get a bit of understanding of Calculus applications without necessarily understanding much of the fundamental theory. Abundance of examples - a good thing!

    Of course a very pricey book - typical of books that are only bought because they're required for particular courses.
