Storm Boy is a young child of 10yrs old he finds a pelican that he saved
He was called Mr Percivil that was his friend
Mr Percervil saved some sailors out in a storm so the sailors said about putting Storm Boy to school
In the meantime Mr Percivil tried to stop hunters from shooting birds and got shot himself and a few days later he died and buried him in the sandhills and ended up going to school
It was a great short read the movie years ago was good and sad

- Reviewed in Australia on 26 January 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read this book because I had taken my granddaughters to see the film. The book is so beautifully written and evkes the landscape of the Coorong so well. Its message of sanctuary is just as relevant today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Touching and compassionate!
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseThis is a beautiful story of a little boy and his love of nature and a wounded baby pelican he finds and bonds with. I saw the movie, which of course, takes some liberties, but stands on its own and stays true to the book. Anyone who loves nature and all God's creatures will love this book. It is compassionate and touching. It is considered a children's book, but it is a book for all ages.
