Techniques for Microbiology: A Student Handbook Spiral-bound – 24 October 2006

4.6 out of 5 stars 153 ratings
Edition: 1st

Lammert’s approach is visual and incorporates “voice balloons” that keep the student focused on the process described. The techniques are those that will be used frequently for studying microbes in the laboratory, and include those identified by the American Society for Microbiology in its recommendations for the Microbiology Laboratory Core Curriculum (recommendations in which the author participated).

5.0 out of 5 stars A helpful guide to microbiology
Reviewed in the United States on 18 January 2014

This handbook teaches students the basic skills necessary to be successful in the laboratory (e.g. flaming, streak plating) as well as provides easy to follow, step-by-step, directions on how to perform each experiment based in microbiology. Along with clear instructions, pictures are provided so that the student can visually see how to proceed through the experiment to minimize errors. Also, at the end of each experiment, the student will be able to recognize and interpret the results of the experiment based off the pictures and information provided in the handbook. This handbook was very useful/handy overall throughout the course of the microbiology class.
