Product description
Review
"I bought this to help me refresh my basic maths in preparation for the university entry tests for Children's Nursing. It was 27 years since I'd done my Maths O Level, so I was rusty to say the least! This book is fantastic. I believe it is the reason I passed my course entry test."-- "Customer review"
"I found the simple explanations and examples easy to follow and was able to quickly refresh my memory and hone my skills in key areas of calculation. The chapter progression is logical and the examples clear and easy to follow. I would recommend this text as appropriate for all nurses, regardless of experience, and particularly as a refresher for those embarking on degree modules such as Independent Prescribing where numeracy skills are an essential element of the course."-- "Karen Dorner (DN Sister, RGN), Journal of Community Nursing"
"I have bought this book recently and I cannot believe at how much I have improved in my drug calculations! Brilliant."-- "Customer review"
"The mock tests at the end of the book are invaluable and will be used as a tool for renewing and updating knowledge through my training as a Paediatric Nurse."-- "Customer review"

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I need!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseIt's been a while since I took any math courses, so I'm a little rusty at math.
I haven't used it much, but from what I can see after flipping through the book,
this will be just what I need to help me pass Dosage Calculations!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has been great for helping me brush up on existing maths knowledge
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI'm due to start nursing in September and haven't done any maths since my GCSEs. This book has been great for helping me brush up on existing maths knowledge, it begins with the basics and explains everything step by step - which is brilliant when you've not really done maths for 4 years! It then goes on to explain the more complex equations, but again, there explained very simply and step by step. The book also includes test questions to help you along a bit more, and it's definitely given me the confidence to face the calculations exams I'll be doing on my degree! Highly recommend for all future student nurses!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful.
Verified PurchaseThis is a great tool to help student nurses and helping RN's revise and master nursing calculations and drug calculation exams. It breaks down basic maths to help you structure your approach to calculations. It's great for someone who struggles with drug calculations or even people who just need a small amount of guidance. It also talks about different medicines and their various brand names to help recognising drugs. As a 2nd year student nurse with pharmacology and calculation exams this year, I found this very useful, especially in combination with a good Pharmacology textbook.
