5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books for the mathematical methods one needs for physics and engineering.

I have used this book over many years - and have found it to be very clear and thorough.
It is one of the books recommended for first year
mathematical methods in the Natural Science Tripos of Cambridge University!
    What better endorsement.
As a bonus one can also get 'guides' to be used with the book on the use of computer algebra packages like Mathematica etc.
    A very useful addition.

I think this book will be very helpful. This book assumes the reader has at least heard of differential equations and explored it a little. It's a good book to expand your current knowledge.

5.0 out of 5 stars better to keep this in mind

One can understand what Engineering Mathematics is all about, by studying from this book. Author knows exactly the psychology of readers and presented the material accordingly. But, a lot of time is required to complete each topic, better to keep this in mind. It took me(an average learner), nearly 3 complete months(8 hours per day on average) to study for GATE-ME.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gutes Nachschlagewerk.
