Loved this subject the text is easy to follow and the subject is fascinating. I was scared of this subject I thought it was going to be all about stats and that's far from the case

Not the most exciting or interesting subject.

I was a bit apprehensive about this subject to begin with, however in the end I loved it and did very well. The idea of 'research' was initially daunting, however I now feel very comfortable with the idea. There are a lot of readings and chapters in the text so keep on top of them. Its also a good idea to do some or all of the exercise to help 'it' sink in. I don't think many people used the forum in this subject (in session 201430) which is a shame as you are able to learn from your peers and the forum allows for discussion. The final assessment is a 'Research Proposal' which sounded difficult at first, however it all came together at the end of the subject. I did this subject whilst completing 'LES202 - Community Leisure & Health Issues' which required a 'Grant Application' for the final assessment and I was able to relate both final assessments (thus using the same research/references). As a DE student I found the recorded lectures and PPTs were most useful

If you get the right teacher, this is a really good subject. When I first enrolled I didn't think I would enjoy it at all but you learn so much and gain some great research skills.
