This unit is not bad. It is easy to get 100% for the quizzes and 100% for the media summary which would cover 40% of the grade. However, they purposely mark harshly for the assignments so that not everyone can get HD. Some of the answers they are looking for like " factors that make diversity management important for organisation" and if it is not one of their answers, they will give you no marks. So a tip, look at the lectures and just copy what they want. No point exploring. They don't like it. Don't even worry about the find extra references. All the answers they want is in the textbook and anything from research papers would not be considered ok. So it is extremely rigid and you will get 0 marks for your intro and conclusion if you do not specifically state," This essay aims to introduce or this essay concludes" which I figured from high school that this really is not appropriate and should be understood from the context of the introduction and conclusion without the need to include those sentences. I was happy to find more about this subject however it really is not worth your time. Disappointing.

At first I thought it would be an dry unit, but the content was easy and enjoyable- you learn about inclusive workplaces and disadvantaged groups in society in relation to employment. There is a weekly quiz- which is 2 multiple choice questions (yes only 2!).. very easy to get 100% which contributes to 20% of your mark, I loved these quizzes as kept me from falling behind and stress free as its only 2 questions usually answers found in the study guide or lecture. Also weekly post analysing media item- very easy to get 100% in this too, you search for an media piece (like an online article) in relation to diversity in the workplace and just summarise each piece in 50 words (so 10 media items and summarising each in 50 words). Very easy, no referencing required, also worth 20%. The major assignment (worth 60%) was about employment and people with disabilities, enjoyed doing this essay, make sure you dont leave it until last min. as it is 3000 words and check where the most marks go and focus on that. Easy HD subject :) Only complaint is replies to discussion board questions are often left out or slow reply (I recommend to email unit chair instead if you have any questions).
