Though it can be a very stressful and daunting unit as you begin to get into the nitty gritty of stats, it is very well taught and structured. However, I do recommend getting additional tutoring if you are struggling to understand statistics as there are many concepts that you will need to know in the following research methods units. Receiving private tutoring helped me go from being confused and overwhelmed to getting a HD in the unit and all following research methods units.

Assignment requirements are very clear and examinable material is well structured

The unit is very well managed. Classes and seminars are very well presented and easy to understand (even if you hate math). Assignments are ok. You can ask lots of questions. My advice is to keep up

Stats. 'Nuff said. Haha. Honestly. If you go to class and actually listen it's a pretty easy subject, most of the maths concepts are taught in grade 10-12 and the tutors are very supportive and helpful.

A daunting unit for many I found it well taught by a very reassuring unit chair. If you apply yourself and work hard on your basic maths skills students seem to do well in this unit.

A notoriously challenging unit, especially for those who feel that maths as not always been their strong suit. However, many students will find that it is similar in content to Year 12 VCE Further Maths. To top it off, the teaching staff are very thorough in their teaching methods, really helping to solidify difficult concepts. Not a bad unit, though I may be biased as one who has always enjoyed maths.
