I did this subject in T1,2019 and found it very interesting. Found it to be very explorative in terms of Data Analysis. Found it easy in terms of tools as well like Rapid-Miner and insights derivations.

Among the most challenging core units in the degree. This unit teaches the foundation of building model for predicting, estimating and classifying the given data. We used a modelling software called RapidMiner. The unit is difficult and needs attention and time. Will suggest attending lectures and tutorials multiple times before starting the assignments. Strictly follow the unit guidelines stipulated and adhere to the pdf template. Hands down best unit in Business Analytics (Masters)

Predictive Analytics in Trimester 2, 2016 was an interesting and challenging course that was run pretty well. You will learn how to build and interpret common predictive modeling techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, neural networks and kNN. You will also learn how to build models from text data. Being such a broad field the course moves at a fairly rapid pace. There is a steep learning curve in the first four weeks and requires a lot more self study than other master's level courses offered by the Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University. The lecturer and the tutor both did a good job in helping us throughout this course and answered all our questions.
