I enrolled in this unit for summer 2023 with Edith Cowan University (ECU), and to say it was disorganized was an understatement. This unit is what nightmares are made of. It constituted the entire depression and frustration package from start to finish, all in one. I felt like I was a guinea pig in a science laboratory for experiment, or like a case of a quack doctor and his patient...in this case I was that guinea pig or patient. I can boldly say studying this unit with ECU was the worst academic experience of my entire life! It was horrid, to say the least. Right from the first day of the start of the unit, there was a failure by the tutor to release any material...not even chapters from the text for students to read. Then there was a substantial amount of time spent teaching IRAC in length, which was a prerequisite of the unit, followed by a calendar schedule that did not match up with the actual delivery of the lectures or tutorials, then being told to read copious chapters of text within a few days in preparation for a test, tutorial meetings that had no students in attendance as no student was notified, test dates getting changed without students being notified, emails to lecturers that never received a response, students having to thoroughly go through discussions on the discussion board in hopes of getting some "valuable" information or any information at all for that matter, first assessment wasn't due till after census date, and then getting failed because we got assessed on what we haven't been taught, students walking into exams with no idea what grades they got in previous assessments...,and the list goes on. Highly disappointing and an absolute catastrophe! Do NOT take this unit if you value your sanity, grade average, time and money.

The summer-run unit was the worst unit I have experienced in several qualifications. I have gone from almost 100% HDs or Ds, to a low C...how? Many other students are in the same boat. Poorly organised, material barely touched on, and then marked down when not mentioned in test/assignment. Spent the first week studying IRAC, which should have been done outside the unit core, I was not paying for that. Huge catch up, everything jammed in. Some bright students are actually failing. Honestly, the university needs to look hard at this and learn some lessons. I am considering changing universities on the back of this.

I studied this unit in Summer 2023. It was one of the worst run Law units I have ever come across at ECU. Fellow students including myself had to ask for basic unit information and unit reading information e.g chapter readings to be published, that was not originally published in any sort of Unit guide/Course information guide. Lecture material/tutorial material was inconsistent. Information differed between what the Course tutor said and what the Unit Co-ordinator advised. Assessable content in the first assignment had to adjusted due to student feedback, even before it was due. The 1st assignment initially covered law lecture material that had NOT even been taught yet. Luckily I withdrew from this unit before the Census date and would not advise any student to study this unit. I am studying another law elective unit instead. Avoid like the plague.
