Difficult, arbitrary image or thought map learning to reproduce in an exam. Can be a great learning experience but requires a lot of extra work to get a lot out of this subject.

A very difficult subject with a lot of content covered. Doesn't really help that the final exam is worth 65% and that prac exams make up a further 25% of the grade. Nevertheless, very interesting subject, especially the microbial genetics sections run by Sam Manna. He was by far my favourite lecturer and whom I learnt the most from.

Microbial genetics section was really interesting and well taught! Last section was pretty bad. Assignments & prac exams during semester weren't too bad but weren't worth much. End of semester exam was worth 65%
