Subject is quite content heavy, however Sean is a great lecturer and explains topics in a clear way. The assignment is quite tedious. Overall, not too difficult

Basically Finance 1b part 2. A Classic Finance unit

I enjoyed this unit much more than I expected. Fyi I have quite a good background in maths so if it's not your strength, you will need to work really hard to do well in this unit. but you have to be serious and study to pass

This course is a very broad look at the investment side of finance. For anyone who is interested in finance, it is an engaging course. The workload and amount of content is quite high, so make sure that you don't fall behind. I strongly recommend students to attend lectures and tutorials and also PAL classes for this course, which give a more relaxed setting for discussion and group problem solving. Doing all three of these whilst also reading the textbook each week led to my success in this subject (HD).

Was a great finance unit, more intense than afin102 for sure! but is not excessively difficult. There are a lot of tutorial questions, try to do all of them. The unit is challenging especially around the end, but should be enjoyed.

The most interesting 1st/2nd year finance unit, covers many crucial buy side decisions, both from passive and active management perspectives. Each topic is highly interrelated, accompanied with a fantastic textbook.

Still currently doing AFIN250 for S2 2017. It's not an easy subject. Don't be deceived how nice the lecturer is because he does make the exams difficult. Lots of theory and substantial maths. Hence, need to have a good balance. I assume most students are in a make or break position for the 60% exam.

Learn a lot of stuff about portfolio, derivative, fixed-income securities. Mainly math but have some interesting theories. Need to more practical in the way the course is run.

Namely Investments this course, however the whole subject structure was completely focus on the corporate finance side. I guess the title was set to introduce and emphasis the Investment principles and methods within corporate context. If you know the capital budgeting method etc NPV, IRR, PP well and have good understanding the capital structure. You wll be fine.-Keivn Wang
