I enjoyed this unit much more than I expected. Fyi I have quite a good background in maths so if it's not your strength, you will need to work really hard to do well in this unit. but you have to be serious and study to pass

A decent subject, but best to keep up to date on the weekly lectures!

Damian was really great, i recommend going to the lectures if you can, same with the tutorials, I had Veronica and she was amazing! went through everything and made sure we all understood before moving on. PAL sessions were really helpful too, great for extra study. I found this unit more interesting and easier than ACST101 - it involves more theory which I enjoyed Doing the tute work before really makes the tutorial more worthwhile. It had 1 class test, a group assignment which was really easy (1000 word report) and easy online quizzes, the answers are all in the lecture slides Overall a great unit - good luck!

Never thought I'd ever say this but this was my favourite unit the semester I took it. Regarding the actual material, I found that it was much easier, and much more interesting, than ACST101 was. Though, I'm pretty sure that my enjoyment in this unit was a result of the lecturer (Damian B.) who took the class at the godforsaken hour of 8AM and actually made them enjoyable and worth going to. He's probably the first lecturer I've had at my time at MQ that could actually explain problems in a way that did not just rehash what was in the lecture notes or textbook (which seems to be a big problem for some lecturers and tutors in MQ, much to my frustration). Overall, a pleasant experience and a relatively easy subject (provided you put in consistent effort).

This is my favourite subject. The lectures may not be so helpful but the examples and the tutorial questions are really helpful. Another easy subject to get a Distinction.

Keep up to date weekly by attending lectures and doing the tutorial questions. PAL sessions are also very helpful
