I thought this unit would be an enjoyable people unit because I did Ancient History in high school and loved it, but that wasn't quite the case. Whilst the lecture content was, for the most part, quite interesting, the fact that they were all online and broken up into several parts made it really hard to focus and enjoy them. There are sooo many sources included in the slides and so much content covered that it was very hard to know what we needed to take notes on. The tutorials were ok although it was mainly just the tutor talking to everyone for an hour and asking for questions at the end. I thought it would be a bit more interactive considering we are marked for participation. I was expecting the students to lead the discussion. The assignments and quizzes weren't too bad and it was nice not having an exam at the end. Overall, some of the content is interesting and it is reasonably easy to do well in but it certainly wasn't a unit I loved and if I could go back I would've picked a different people unit.

Interesting unit which introduces you not only to mythology but the ancient world as well, and how myth explains and accounts for ancient customs and beliefs. The lectures can be followed if they are sped up but the content is mostly quite interesting. Readings were fine, they are all in the textbook so it is definitely required. Assessments weren't too bad and it is possible to do well if you pay attention and work hard.

Tutorials were quite fun, although the online lectures (with no visual) were surprisingly dry.

Lectures were very boring, readings where not too long. The further readings helped with assignments, otherwise don’t bother. Tutorial was terriable as we were spoken at for an hour, regardless of requesting group work to supply answers and questions. Well organised otherwise, assessments were marked nicely. Definitely will need to buy a copy of the textbook

I was unhappy with this subject - The lectures were boring, the tutorials were no more interesting and there was a lot of work required where the markers, I found, were really strict. There was a high level of material covered and sure, there was no exam, but overall I didn't enjoy this unit at all.

One of the best subjects! Lectures were kind of boring and hard to watch, but the tutorials were awesome!!
