Boring and repetitive. Although interesting in parts, overall a tough subject to get through if you don't have a love for environmental law.

Alright subject. Lectures were so boring. But little assessments and needed to get the textbook

I don't recommend this subject to people who are looking for an easy planet unit to do. The unit is quite disorganised so I wasn't very happy with how my tutor didn't know much, he kept referring us back to the convenor. I did like the topics we learned about it and it makes you think about climate change and the need for sustainable development today. There are lot of debates during tutorials, attendance is compulsory and tutorial participation is worth 20% of the grade. Make sure to turn up and be well prepared beforehand, especially if you have Trish as your tutor. Overall, good organisation and keeping up with readings as well as attending lectures will definitely get you a D/HD. I do recommend going to every lecture, often some parts are not recorded because videos are shown, sometimes you have to sign in and sometimes Trish will say important things regarding the final research assignment off-record.

Loved this unit! Was my favourite for semester 1. It is a good planet unit for law students, or anyone really, easy, it is quite an eye opener and definitely interesting! The unit convenor/ lecturer was quite reasonable. Readings were average although I do recommend purchasing the book as majority of the tutorial work relies on textbook reading. Assignments were a good load - although the journal keeping was a bit of a pain. Overall loved the unit, definitely recommend!

A good subject if you enjoy sustainability topics like global warming, deforestation, overfishing and the like. Keep in mind that it is called 'business law' for a reason, though, and that there's a bit of legislation and political debates during classes, and that's what you're examined on as well.
