This unit has a lot of work, so be prepared from the start. The jump to becoming a professional who documents all their thinking and their work is a big one. However, it is extremely rewarding as you get to start working with and learning about children. I learnt so much on practical. When choosing a placement site, Google childcare centres that have websites - they tend to be of better quality. Also, look out for an NQS rating if they have one. Assignments culminate to help you in your final professional experience, so use them to your benefit!
