Reviews
To preface this review, I struggled extremely severely with my mental health and disabilities this semester, to the point of paralysis at points. Karen, the convenor, had been an absolute ANGEL for me this semester! She was so kind, patient, and understanding with what's been happening, and I felt truly welcomed in her course. She consistently found positive points to comment on to boost my confidence, and would routinely check in on me even when she didn't have to. She gave me more grace than she had to with my assignments and my attendance. I truly wish she could forever be my convenor. Now, on to the actual course itself. It's honestly a very fun and interesting subject! I learnt a lot about technological advances and emerging technologies that I'd never even heard about before, and now can implement into my teaching pedagogy going forward! I was genuinely excited every single week to show up for class (a 2hour class at that) as we were always doing something fun, engaging, and innovative. I always felt like I was learning something, or engaging with something new and exciting. My tutor was David. He is an extremely passionate man with a kind soul, I'd recommend him as a tutor any day of the week. He genuinely cares for his students - he also checked in on me constantly to ensure I was doing okay and managing things okay, not just academically but personally - and he genuinely LOVES what he's teaching, and you can see that clear as day. His passion for his work is inspiring and definitely motivated me to continue working even when I felt like I was falling behind. The assignments were extremely engaging, and the ones I continuously kept going back to as I just plain enjoyed doing them. I do feel that the assignments have strengthened my skills as an educator and future teacher. Overall, I definitely recommend this subject to everyone who's doing an education degree, and especially recommend this subject to those who struggle with any personal issues as the convenor and tutors are by far some of the best people I've met at this university since I started in 2019.

One of the very few inspiring subjects at Macquarie in the Education degree. The tutors are great and actually have interest in what they are teaching unlike some in other subjects. The subject is done very well and is highly useful for your future career as a teacher. I have learnt alot and enjoyed this subject which is rare coming from me.
