Reviews

I actually really enjoyed this unit, despite the previous reviews. I found Doron to be a really great tutor with a friendly and positive attitude. The lectures and structure can be a bit confusing, but Doron would be more than happy to explain and answer any questions in tutorials. I found the assessment simple- there were 8 days to complete the final take home exam, which meant that you could cram all the relevant info if needed. The Q&As were an easy 10 marks if you followed the rules, and participation was another easy 10.

Lectures are pretty useless - you basically have to self-teach yourself in this unit. As stated by others here, there is no logical flow or structure to the unit. The textbook is useful and you will NEED it.

Content is quite dry and theory heavy. Also, the lecturer seemed to read straight from the slide, with no further emphasis. His accent was also hard to understand (at times). The only positive was tutorials, in which the tutor really thorough in explaining key points. You can tell how dedicated Christine is to making sure students understand the content!

This subject was so so so boring.

One of the most confusing subjects taught at the uni. No cohesive structure and no attempt to create a logical flow of topics within the subject.

Content was confusing and dull. Week to week there was little linking between different topics. Lecturer was difficult to understand and he just read from the slides. There was no explanation of the topics so it was difficult to learn. Textbook was really useful, easy to read, so would definitely suggest making sure you have it. Take home exam was on a range of topics, some which we hadn't done in the unit. Felt like it didn't really use what we had been taught and so it felt pointless having done the entire unit and all of the readings for the final exam to be based on aspects of the textbook we had never done. So would recommend doing the readings for general knowledge, but really just came down to the research for the final exam.

The only thing I liked about this subject was the material and cases. I did not like the lecturer and I found she often presented her view as fact rather than opinion
