I really enjoyed this unit! Although the lectures are a little underwhelming and not too engaging, the content itself is great. You start with overarching concepts such as the nuclear family and the sexual division of labour, before looking into more specific areas of family law each week. I particularly enjoyed learning about historical concepts of 'family' and how these views shape our society. Two essays make up the majority of your grade and I appreciated the freedom in essay question so that I could write on anything relevant to the unit that interested me.
