Super difficult and finnicky, unless you have a previous interest in functional linguistics I would heavily recommend choosing a different unit. Lukin is a good tutor but Ernest Akerejola is hard to follow and seems unable to connect with students.

In my experience, though interesting, this subject is one of the more difficult linguistics units. The textbook is an absolute requirement in order to do well. I'll say the tutorials were pretty mundane. Professor Lukin is amazing though, and helps her students very actively on iLearn.

Very difficult subject, seems as though you are expected to just 'get it' straightaway.

A hard subject to grasp. The lecturer seemed to always dance around the content. If it is not a requirement, I would not recommend it.

It can be hard to get your head around this one. Definitely recommend the extra tutorials they put on, and lots and lots of exercises and reviews. I really did not enjoy a lot of aspects of this units
