The subject is theoretical so don't expect it to be any thought of practical in this unit. Do your best in the readings, quizzes, essay and try your best to participate in the tutorials, then you will do fine. It doesn't matter if this unit is just an elective, anyone can pass. The teachers will try their best to make you pass this subject, just put in effort.

This is not a practical unit but theory based. The content was very interesting even if you have little experience with visual art/photography, but i found the assignments very frustrating. The weightings did not match the amount of effort required to complete them. The exhibition review took several hours yet was worth little, and required extra time out of my day to travel into the city and back. However, the lecturer & my tutor were nice & helpful.

This unit is so fun, and the lecturer/tutor (Dennis) is such a delight. That man is at least fifteen years older than me, but he made me feel young. Really animated and friendly tutor. I can recognise that the content in this unit was possibly a bit dry, and very specific in its interests, but I felt engaged the whole time and there was a great environment in lecturers and tutorials. Assessments weren't too hard, and there's no exam. Would recommend this unit to anyone, even as an elective to non-media students so long as Dennis is still on it. I still miss my weekly updates on the Bachelorette.
