Content is sometimes interesting but delivery is boring and the weekly tutorials is a waste of time. The delivery is boring because the lectures are pre-recorded videos from years ago and some lecturers sometimes write too much info on the slides or sound uninterested. There is weekly tutorials but since the content is fairly easy to understand I feel like it's only there to make sure students keep up with content. Marking for the assessment is NOT HARSH because I started on the essay the week before it was dued, barely submited my essay on time, had spelling + grammar mistakes and 30% in simillarity yet my grade was above 80%. Other than the final exam, the hardest thing I had to endure for this unit were the pre-recorded lectures.

Extremely harsh marking for assessment task. Not consistent with other psychology units at Macquarie.

enjoyed the content but tutorials are a complete waste of time.

AVOID THIS SUBJECT! The essay task was marked very harsh and tutors wanted specific things mentioned however this was not explained to us therefore lost silly marks. The marking was inconsistent and the feedback given to me did not at all reflect the mark. The tutorial work is a waste of time. The quizzes assess specific factual information which does not ass your overall understanding of specific concepts. If you can avoid this subject as it will most likely bring your WAM down!

Not at all that I expected. Lecture are pre-recorded from years back and a very rushed final and midterm exam. Non-consistent markers with the essay project and no feedback from this essay.

Interesting, but not what I expected in terms of the content. It was very much focused around learning about different models of health behaviour, which is a bunch of rote learning. Otherwise, the concepts are all quite interesting and applicable to your everyday life, and most of it is common sense. I actually really liked learning about health advertising, which sounds boring but was pretty cool! I didn't bother buying the textbook, which made some quiz and exam questions difficult, and the exam was pretty rushed with 100 questions in 90 minutes, but it was easy enough to get a distinction.

Easily the worst subject I've ever taken at Macquarie. Assessments marked with no standard between markers, for one student that gets a P, another with the same quality of work gets a HD. Final exam was an absolute joke, takes random lines from lectures that do not relate to the learning outcomes - how are you meant to learn from this? Also no feedback sheets given out at the end of semester. What a waste of a subject.

Good unit with engaging content that was easy to understand. Marking can be a bit harsh at times, but overall an enjoyable unit.
