A very engaging unit with fascinating concepts and an enjoyable list of topics. The assessment is relatively easy and the unit isn't hard to keep on top of.

This unit covers one of the most (if not THE most) important questions humans can ask - are we alone in the Universe? The unit is about the new and thriving field of astrobiology, which a fusion of multiple disciplines: astronomy, physics, biology, chemistry. The main lecturer, Dr Jasmina Lazendic-Galloway, is very enthusiastic and passionate astronomer, and it was a joy to listen to her lectures. The best part of the unit, in my opinion, is the prescribed textbook "Life in the Universe" by Bennett and Shostak. It is well written, deep in content and contains a lot of stunning images. The textbook was so good, I am keeping it for re-reading.

Can be difficult if you have never done astronomy or biology, however it is quite fascinating. Labs are a bit pointless at times.
