This is an excellent unit for anyone interested in anthropology. The topics are varied and super interesting (e.g. witchcraft, religious practices, cosmos) and the lecturer is awesome. I also had a good tutor which definitely helped. The assessments were quite simple and the staff give fair marks.

tutorial felt like a repeat of the lecture, and wasn't engaging. overall an interesting unit that could have been done in half the time. easy unit, but a fair amount of reading and boring assignments

I HAD THE WORST TUTOR EVER!! VERY unprofessional in dealing with students. Would give him 0 stars if I could. The coursework was pretty easy but the whole experience was ruined because of him. Has a fragile ego that he tries to protect for no apparent reason. Has no communication regarding the marking criteria and will only Mark according to his "interpretation". Will throw a fit when questioned. Takes everything personally and when questioned even respectfully will say let's investigate it I take my job seriously and take everything out of context. Pushed me to a point of getting the dean involved because by asking a simple and relevant question regarding MY marks his little ego got hurt. While there was evidence backing my claim up. Worst teacher ever only talks and talks and talks so annoying had respect for him until he embarrassed me in front of the whole class with scant regard of what I felt and then got worked up when I went to talk to him after class. Disrespectful and up himself. Should just get fired. Don't want to waste my money on someone who can't even handle a simple question regarding a students work and unfair marking. Save yourself and change tutes.
