Reviews
Assessments: 35% Career issues analysis - 2000 words essay using career theory, topics to choose from. 20% Resume + cover letter peer reviewing - documents aren't assessed, but the feedback you give are. 10% test - just ctrl + F on the powerpoints, not a big deal 35% Opportunity analysis essay - 2000 words report on opportunities for a career of your choice. Tutorials are pretty useless, expect for the ones where they talk about assignments or drop in sessions for assignments. Weekly lectures are hard to watch, just look at the powerpoint. Don't really need to follow week for week, just look at the ones that talk about assignments if you want. Did this subject because if I'm going to write a 2000 word paper, it might as well be worth some good % of marks.

Just don’t do it to yourself.

I've never encountered such an easy yet useful unit during my 3 years of study at Monash. You have only 2-3 contact hours/week, interesting assignments and most importantly, no exam!

Amazing unit. Extremely useful particularly if you're approaching your final years of study; this unit will provide you with valuable tools to help you succeed in your graduate job searches. Sounds tacky, but it really is brilliant.

If you're unsure about what to do after uni, or how to get there this course has the practical skills to help you, as long as you attend the correct tutorials, and watch the online lectures. Some of the content and career theory is pretty useless to most people but the practical skills like interviewing and resume and cover letter writing are skills everyone can benefit from. Stay on top of the weekly tasks for easy marks. To lighten your load, read only the readings relevant to your final project.
