Worst Unit in Biomed

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2021

Best first-year unit with great lecturers from the physiology department. Fairly easy to HD.

Am I the only one who didn’t find this to be their favourite unit this semester? This unit has quite a bit of content to keep up with so watch out, you’ll also have 2 midsem so again watch out. Definitely not impossible to get an HD in if you give it the time. Labs are super detailed so focus and ask questions because each lab is worth quite a bit. I’ll probably get some hate for this but I didn’t like Nic price as a lecturer tbh...there...I said it. However, he’s a nice guy who does want to see students do well and is always looking to improve the unit. That being said, the content is definitely interesting so it makes up for the fast pace

My favourite unit, extremely interesting and lo of new things to know.

Best subject in first year! A fantastic lecturer that understands you and helps you out. The content is quite heavy (probably the rich in first year) but if you put time into it, its actually amazing. Lot of in semester assessments making it a rather easy subject to HD.

Definitely my favourite first year unit. A good balance of different topics, including foundations revision from the physiology components of Medical Biophysics in Semester One. A lot of effort required, however, and non-compulsory laboratories are worth attending. The concepts in them are assessed. The only 'issue' is how surprisingly content-heavy the unit was. Stay organised, however, and you're fine.

One of my favorite first year biomed subjects, although it is very content heavy (expected from a bio subject). Sometimes the concepts weren't explained in depth in lectures but the labs always made up for the information we missed.
