If you take this unit you can enjoy doing mandatory long, boring lab sessions every week that mostly consist of just waiting for something to happen. After that you can enjoy spending 10 hours every week typing up your weekly reports and making graphs in excel. And what do you get for all of these mandatory assignments? 3% of your grade! In the lectures expect difficult, confusing content and a lack of help in the unit as there are no tutorials. Weekly quizzes are there and are only open for a couple of days over the weekend, so make sure you spend a couple of hours doing them every week in between your 10 hours of weekly lab reports and hours of study. Oh and the quizzes are 1% of your grade. What a great unit

Highly recommend if wanting to do environmental science or earth science, really helps with understanding chemistry of pollution in waterways and well links in with a lot of EAE units! Easy to get good marks in the lab reports because the marking rubric is really detailed.

I found this subject really interesting so i highly recommend it if you want to know more about the chemistry of waterways. This subject involves two field trips which are really enjoyable as well as has amazing lecturers and TA's. It's difficult and does involve both mathematical and theoretical components but i personally believe you should give it a go if analytical chemistry is something you would like to pursue.
