This unit primarily teaches you Android Studio (you get to choose between Java or Kotlin depending on preference) and understanding the various concepts associated with it (Intents, Fragments, Room, Retrofit etc.). Prof Pari structured the unit relatively well especially given how convoluted the android ecosystem is. I learned a lot from this unit and by doing the assignment 3 (which involves implementing various features such as facebook sharing, WorkManager which aren't covered in class). It is important to note if you are not a strong coder and don't like reading android documentation or online tutorials, you will struggle for this unit as you are expected to self-study a lot of stuff outside of class (basically all the stuff they teach you is only enough for a passing grade)....you have to take the initiative to learn how to implement a certain a particularly feature for your android app Overall, even though it was a struggle, this unit is very rewarding and makes me want to continue learning Android programming during my spare time.
