This unit was quite challenging to do well in, not a wam booster in my opinion! Although the content was not too difficult and staff were incredibly supportive and organised, the assessment style relies on knowing minor details (which you wouldn't expect to be tested) to do well on exams, tests etc. The lab reports were marked very harshly (depending on the Ta you got). However, the podcast assessment tasks and workshop tasks were marked fairly and was quite enjoyable to complete!

The unit was a bit content-heavy but delivered well with enthusiastic coordinators (Jen & Liz at the time). It was a great introduction to pharmacology and assessments, although quite a lot, did help prepare for the exam. In terms of lab, the unit has one of the most enjoyable hands-on practicals with very patient and helpful TAs (Matt & Yan at the time). There was not much chemistry or math involved in the unit but just doing drug concentrations in the lab which were simple, as they give a tutorial on it from the start. I agree with the rest of the comments that it is an interesting unit to take but make sure to do all the homework as it helps.

A great unit that introduces new fundamental concepts of pharmacology! There is so much to learn, including all about the neurotransmitters within the nervous system and diseases that can manifest if this dysfunctions or is disrupted. The interesting lectures are delivered by enthusiastic academics that love to engage with you and encourage questions and participation. Do try it!

Good unit but incomplete lectures provided so it’s essential to either go to them or listen to them online! Lots of little assessments which were a little hard to keep up with

Absolutely engaging unit with well thought-out and organised lectures in 4 themes. Lecturers were always well prepared and loved to interact with students. The pracs were easy if you asked your demonstrater heaps of questions. I'd highly recommend this unit for anyone doing Biomedical Science or Science!
