Currently taking this. The most irritating things are the assignments and unit content. The task sheet for the report was 39 pages long! Information was all over the place and task requirements were hard to understand. All dependent on who you get as a marker because they mark you subjectively despite what tutors tell you to put in or remove! Your grading for the podcast is entirely dependent on who you have in your group, because there is no way you can do their part by yourself unless you have multiple personality disorder, because you can't be both interviewer and guest! Feedback is also not nearly reflected by their mark, as you can definitely feel the harsh marking

No support from the tutors at all , all the tutors are contradicting with one another in terms of what to write in the assessments, and they mark you way down with a very vague feed back.

marking for assignments was super subjective and completely depended on your tutor, making it hard to get good marks

I really hated this unit. But for me personally, I do not like science. I definitely prefer the Humanities/Social side of psychology, but unfortunately this unit was compulsory. Ended up getting a 65 by cramming last minute. So If you enjoy science it should be a fairly easy distinction.

Challenging but really interesting content. Able to do well in this class if you really keep on top of the readings.

DO NOT DO THIS UNIT. If I could give no stars I would have done that. Useless lectures, lecturers, tutors and readings. Nothing really helps. This should not be compulsory and should only be an option for psych students who are interested in neuropsychology which is probably less than half of the cohort. Don't ever bother asking for help from the tutors because they will ask you to "figure it out on your own". The assessment information is extremely contradictory to what they are expecting and are marked unnecessarily harsh. Please do not do this unless you really have to because you will come to regret doing this unit.

Extremely dense readings and absolutely NO guidance from tutors/unit co-ordinators. The learning objectives were extremely broad and given the very high amount of readings, were of little help. The design has not changed since 2016 despite countless bad reviews. Maybe the teaching staff should be replaced by people who actually care.
