I found this to be a unit that excels at providing only the basic content you need to survive the rest of university assessments. For example, there is are reports that help you learn how to properly reference (including in-text citation) along with short oral presentations.

This unit taught pretty basic science skills, which are relevant mainly for those in the health sciences and/or research. If you haven't been in the schooling system for a while this unit can be a handy transition back into academics. This unit can help you improve your writing skills, if you try to do so.

This unit is only great for getting an easy HD. Other than that it's pretty basic and not very inspiring. The content is basically half a unit's worth of content stretched out to fill an entire unit. But just because it's boring and the concepts are easy doesn't mean they mark any easier than any other unit, so don't slack on the assessments.

Waste of time for IT students, only 10% of the course is relevant and even then it was at a stretch.

As a year 12 graduate I found this unit very easy to finish. Being external the negative was to keep up with the discussion demands, but as long as you kept to the due dates this will be one of your easier first year subjects (yay!). Great refresher for basic maths, Excel and critical analysis skills that are vital to university study.
