The unit builds the foundation on the theories and perspective you will need later on as you progress in your studies. Basic biological concepts are required as well as general psychology knowledge. Keeping up with the readings will really help in this unit and working on with the essays early on will give you time to revise for the final exam.

This unit covered a lot of content quite superficially, but this is to be expected for a first year psych unit. I recommend focussing on the reading relevant to your essay topic. It is a struggle to keep up with the weekly readings, so at the least I suggest you go to every lecture you can. The exam is fairly manageable if you've been paying attention at lectures, and some psych general knowledge can help.
