Taken in Winter Semester 2021 . I was really looking forward to this course but the delivery of it was appalling. There were significant communication problems including date and time changes which resulted in the lecturer turning up half an hour late, people missing work and unnecessary burden on students. The course was carried out over 5 days in an intensive format with the final exam due the following Tuesday. There was little time to prepare or study as after the 8 hour days, we were then required to do further research and prep for exercises the following day which took up considerable chunks of our own time. The content was quite interesting at times and it’s a good course if you’re looking at pursuing commercial law but not necessarily in an ADR capacity. It gives you a basic understanding of the processes of ADR but if you’ve already done another ADR course or Negotiation in a Legal Context there’s not really anything new here to justify it unless you’re planning on becoming an ADR practitioner. Overall, interesting content but terrible delivery.
