The whole course was strange. The teacher we had for the first part challenged just about everything you said to him, it was very difficult to learn when he wouldn't just say "you're on the right track" or "that's correct" but instead made you question what you've just said or written. No constructive feedback which I would have thought would be important when you're teaching social scientists how to be ethical in their practices! Either that, or nobody was getting anything right. The part of the course that focused on ATSI ethics was great though, the teachers were engaging and took time to explain things properly it sort of used ATSI-specific problems and considerations as an example to show you how to consider all different kinds of humans while you're researching.

The first half of the course was very good. It really forced you to think. The last part on Aboriginal practice became more preachy and dictatorial. The first part was more "can you justify why you would do x?" whilst the second was more "you must do this because"
