BIO10004 Biology of Cells and Organisms Notes H1 Mark (94%)
Subject notes for UniMelb BIOL10004
Description
For this subject, I wrote brief notes in class then cleaned them up and cross-checked with references - textbook and internet - at a later date. As you can see I've used colours to highlight the important parts and I've tried to use my own words to explain concepts simply at all times. I've also added glossaries at the end of a few of the lecture notes to explain keywords. I found this style of note taking especially conducive to writing out palm cards and revising at the end of semester. The subjects covered in these notes include: - Intro to biology - Prokaryotes - Eukaryotes - Cell division - Biological Molecules and membranes - Cellular respiration and photosynthesis Plant biology: - Leaf structure and function - Plant nutrition - Water and transport - Plant hormones, reproduction, defence, growth and development Animal biology - Circulation - Gas exchange - Cells, tissues, organs - Hormonal regulation - Reproduction and development - Digestion, feeding and nutrition - Body fluid and temperature regulation - Defence against pathogens Ecology: - Understanding biological diversity - Ecology and evolution - Evolution and the human animal
