Anatomy of Lower Limbs - Leg, Foot & Ankle
Subject notes for Curtin HUMB 2002
Description
These notes are sectioned into simple headings and tables, and allow a much easier read. It breaks down the examinable contents from theory test, practical and exams into manageable chunks, and makes this unit less intimidating. I have divided the lower limb lectures into several consecutive sections and each table includes the criteria from the unit outline of origin, insertion, action, innervation and blood supply. As a visual learner myself, I have included pictures and labels next to the table, and has helped me immensely with retaining detailed components of each muscle covered in this unit. The following muscles are covered in organised and cohesive sections: • Movements of Ankle and Foot that carry out Inversion, Eversion, Dorsiflex and Plantar flexion (Joint & Muscle) • 3 muscle compartments in Lower Leg – Anterior, Lateral & Superficial/Deep Posterior The following muscles are divided into actions, muscle, innervation and blood supply including the muscles associated: • Ankle Dorsiflexors Group - • Ankle Plantarflexor Group • Ankle Invertors • Ankle Evertors • Foot – Flexors of Big Toe • Foot – Flexors of Little Toe • Foot – Flexors of Lateral toes • Foot – Flexion of Metarsophalengeal joints • Foot Digit Extensor • Foot Digit Abductors • Foot Digit Adductors • Plantar Muscle Layer
