These notes are for the subject Introduction to Information Systems - 31266, studied at the University of Technology Sydney. Week 5: Information System's role in the evolving state of business, such as market and technology pressures. Learn about Value Chain. Week 7: Learn about Data and Knowledge Management. This includes Databases and issues with traditional file systems. Week 8: Learn about threats to Information Systems. The different types of threats, where they come from, and how to prevent/mitigate damage to an organisation. Week 9: Ethics and Privacy in the world of Information Systems. Week 10: Learning about Telecommunications and Networks. The basics of how networks function, and the best application of networks for businesses. Week 12: Acquiring Information Systems and Applications. The planning and implementation process of developing new information systems for business. This includes updating an existing system. Learn about Systems Development Life Cycles and the planning procedures. The notes contain a title page a table of contents with each important topic. The document is 47 pages in total. With 10 weeks of important learning, this brings it to only 5 pages a week to learn!!! Some weeks are missing as they are not important in getting a High Distinction in the subject. Week 1 is just introducing you to the subject outline, and weeks 4 & 6 are guest speakers that are not repeated in the quizzes or exams. Hope you find them useful and good luck with your studies :)
