Macroeconomic Analysis Full Course Notes
Subject notes for USYD ECON6002
Description
These notes cover all content taught in ECON6002/6702 Macroeconomic Analysis in Sem 1 2025. They are detailed (70 pages) and include 'deep dives' into more difficult concepts like CRRA Utility Functions and Intertemporal-Elasticity of Substitution. I have taken particular care to highlight the key takeaways from each section at the beginning, before laying out the detail. This should make the content easier to absorb, and will ensure that even if you get lost in some of the detail during lectures, you still know what the key points to learn are (this was something I found difficult in the lectures!). Covers: Part 1: Simple Macro Models (weeks 1-2) Part 2: Simple Growth Models (Week 3-4) Part 3: Real Business Cycle Model (Weeks 5-6) Part 4: New Keynesian Model (Weeks 7 and 9) Part : Incorporating Fiscal Policies into simple models (Weeks 10-11) Part : Fiscal policy part 2 (Week 12) Part 6: International Macroeconomics (Week 13)
