Jason Sternberg is the best academic staff member at QUT!

Enjoyed the content of this unit, especially later on in the semester with topics such as gender and ethics but the assignments were repetitive and boring. Examples are provided (some that got 7s too) which were helpful guides. Jason was great also. Overall, a rather average unit

Really good subject. Well covered content in terms of intro to issues and advancements in journalism. Jason is a brilliant lecturer and all round total good guy, really approachable. Lectures were always interesting and panels with the industry professionals were amazing. Could have done with less student commentary during lectures - always seemed to waste time listening to the same people with predictable opinions who enjoy listening to their own vocals.

Good subject but expected more content and less essays regurgitating the content available. Panel discussions with media/journalism professionals was helpful. Jason is a great lecturer, never boring but occasionally carried off on a tangent :) the tutor we had was also very nice and supportive and explained concepts well.
