A much better unit than it's 125 predecessor. What it has in difficulty is made up for by much better layout overall - but it definitely rewards those that put the effort in. Not a unit to get complacent on.

Being the harder of the two mandatory engineering mathematics units at QUT it is notorious for being a hell zone for first and second year students that don't have a solid mathematical foundation. The unit covers a variety of topics in a reasonably short amount of time (Differential Equations, Laplace Transforms, Statistics, Mathematical Programming, etc...) but does provide students with the base mathematical skills they will likely have to utilize throughout the rest of their degree. I recommend finding a math buddy for this subject, you might need it!
