Experienced tutor || Graduated with Doctoral and Honours degree in Chemical Engineering from Monash University. Hi, my name is Michael. I have completed both degrees of Ph.D. and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in the field of Chemical Engineering at Monash University. My research involved MATLAB coding and mathematical formulations of physical engineering processes. Hence, I am specializing in Transport Phenomena and numerical methods, as well as other Chemical Engineering units. Some units I tutor and the marks I received are as follows: ENG1060: 86 ENG2005: 88 CHE2164/MEC2405: 92 CHE3165: 94 CHE3167: 89 CHE4162: 92 CHM1051: 95 CHM2735: 94 Looking for effective revision to catch up on all that you have learned during your Mid Sem break? Struggling with advanced chemical engineering studies or the switch to online learning, assignments, or time management issue for a twelve-week study semester? Or looking for a pre-lecture to ace your courses before the hectic semester begins? Book a session with me to have tutorials that are: ✅ Adapted to YOUR learning style ✅ Flexible in tutoring methods (one-to-one (on campus), online tutoring via ZOOM) ✅ Study group of up to four students (Ideal for effective tutoring) My first 15-minute session/consultation is completely free! It gives us a chance to get to know each other, understand your study concerns, set study goals and finally come up with a study plan for you. My goal is to teach you how to study smarter and more effectively, NOT harder (e.g. spend an hour for one question?) by sharing my full understanding of particular Chemical Engineering course units with you. I am willing to deliver my tips for scoring the final assessments at the end of the semester. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions for more details. Cheers!

I was incredibly fortunate to have Kian Siang (Michael) as my tutor for CHE2162, CHE2164 and ENG1005. Before that I lost myself when solving the challenging engineering questions and wasted much time in ineffective revisions. I had asked plenty of ‘stupid’ questions during the tutorial session with him, but each time he was supportive and provided the guidance to study productively and keep focus on key topics. Michael possesses great patience, and a positive teaching style. Both professional attributes proved incredibly useful in setting me up for success throughout the unit whilst I prepared for the final exam. With his support i was able to achieve two HD and a D.

Kian Siang (Michael) delivered tutorial to me for ENG1090 and I started with about 20% knowledge of the unit. I had approximately nine sessions with Michael, before my final assessment. My goal at the start of the sessions was to pass the course unit, and after his tutoring, I received a high Credit in this unit! I definitely recommend Michael’s services to anyone who needs a tutor who is helpful, patient, and thorough.

Kian Siang (Michael) helped me through CHE3167 and CHE3161. He is highly knowledgeable and provides clear and succinct explanations. His tutoring style is excellent, utilizing time very efficiently. He also provided me with several valuable resources to study on my own time. He truly helped me grasp the foundational knowledge that I was struggling with, which often gets overlooked by university lecturers. He is an incredible teacher and mentor. I can't recommend Michael enough.

I was fortunate enough to have Michael as my tutor for over a year and he was instrumental in me being able to successfully pass my units. He was patient and attentive, and would adjust the tutoring sessions to best benefit my learning. His teaching style makes it easy to understand what is often unclear and hectic lecture notes. I cannot recommend him enough for anyone who is struggling with Chemical Engineering.
